About IC Transformations
Why IC Transformations?
We can bring large organisation principles to businesses of all sizes and tailor them to your business.
We have lived the transformational change process and as a result have a genuine appreciation of the challenges it presents and how to achieve success. Our change experience is backed by a wealth of operational experience, which gives invaluable understanding of how to successfully implement a change programme or strategy.
Our approach is determined by the specific needs of your business, not on a 'one size fit all' methodology. We look to identify where you want to be and create an approach suited to your business’s needs and aspirations.
Our clients have ranged from FTSE100 and Professional Services to Retail and Third Sector organisations.
Performance Director and Principal Coach
An engineer by background I have undertaken a variety of operations, engineering and projects roles during a career spanning over 20 years in the Royal Navy and a further 11 years in Industry. In each organisation I have created and led high performing, well motivated teams with a high degree of success and focussed on business improvement and change programmes.
I have always been fascinated by team and individual performance improvement, which led to a development path aimed at these aspects. Over the last four years, I have undertaken both Certificate and Diploma programmes with the Institute of Directors and Executive Coaching programmes through the Henley Business School. I am passionate about helping individuals and teams fulfil their potential by working with them to develop solutions to their own areas of concern. It was a natural step to take this learning to a wider audience and hence in 2016 I formed IC Transformations. I am currently working with a range of clients from FTSE100, private and third sector organisations, I am a business mentor with Renfrew Chamber of Commerce, and a Trustee (Non Executive Director) for Scottish Gymnastics.
Away from work I am married with three children and have a wide range of interests, but a particular love of sport, especially cricket.
Dr Matt Offord PhD
I am a leadership and professional development consultant and researcher with extensive experience in the operational and executive leadership. I also hold an MBA in Leadership Studies and a PhD in Management. My key contribution is my strong belief in the power of relationships to transform organisations.
After 29 years’ experience as an officer in the Royal Navy, undertaking roles as diverse as coaching Executive Leaders, advising the Navy Board and running complex nuclear dockyards, I have travelled extensively leading high-performance teams in complex, challenging and sometimes dangerous conditions. This has led me to understand how leadership emerges from teams and is not always invested in one person. This understanding of the complexity and power of teams caused me to look into the matter further by researching at the Doctoral level at Durham University and beyond this at Oxford University.
In order to apply my learning in a practical environment and help organisations benefit from the power of team-work, leadership and strategy; I have set up a leadership and professional development consultancy. My work so far has included conducting research for the Institute of Leadership and Management, work as a Kaplan Licensed Faculty member in Saudi Arabia and advising social enterprise Police Now on leadership development.
I am based in Scotland and I love to walk around the hills and sea lochs in my local area. I also love to read extensively, play the occasional game of chess and practice the Japanese martial art of Jodo (Japanese Short Staff).
I am a learning and development professional with 25 years experience in the retail, financial and commercial arenas. I influence and empower a wide range of personalities across all levels of seniority. I have a proven track record in learning design and consultancy, having been responsible for a range of successful learning interventions at leadership, management and graduate levels.
In particular, I work with people to enhance their impact and influence, leadership capabilities and all aspects of their interpersonal skills. Whilst this can be summarised as enhancing emotional intelligence, as a pragmatist my focus is always on helping participants to apply these skills in their daily life, and thus shorten the learning curve.
I have extensive experience of leading group and individual learning in highly regulated and technical environments. Recent clients have included UK and European regulators, Central and Retail Banks, an International Accountancy firm, a large consultancy practice, a personal credit provider, a Formula 1 racing team and a government body in Saudi Arabia.
I am a qualified coach and CIPD Associate, an accredited MBTI, “PRISM” (A neuroscience tool) and “Strengthscope” practitioner. These skills reflect my interest in positive psychology, which focuses on enhancement rather than correction. This makes the learning experience more powerful and enriching for participants. It also promotes self-belief and a commitment to make the changes that they believe will have the biggest impact on their success.
My previous roles include L & D Business Partner for KPMG; Senior L & D associate at the Financial Services Authority; Financial Services Authority Supervisor and Senior Training Manager at HSBC bank.
I love to travel and experience different cultures. During my career I have worked in North and Central America, the Middle East and extensively around Europe.
I am a project management professional with a focus on managing complexity and major transformational programmes. I have over 30 years of working in engineering/manufacturing environments initially as an engineer and then in a project environment working at project director level.
Over the years I have reached the conclusion that in a complex environment a project needs to move beyond the standard transactional processes of governance and assurance to one of collaboration and the development of high performing teams. This then is about people and how to create a collaborative environment. Similarly, in developing major transformation programmes there must be a strong focus on the people change management aspects for this to be successful.
As such, I have focused my attentions in recent years on the people side of leadership and in particular developing a coaching capability to help people and teams to realise their potential and to help people through period of significant change.
As well as supporting businesses to implement the governance and assurance processes necessary for all projects and transformations I also support the team development and people change management aspects that are critical for project success.
A lot of my people management skills have been learned bringing up a family of four children. I also enjoy being outdoors walking, cycling and occasionally sailing.
